I’m Anastasiia, a passionate UX researcher whose focus is always on users’ needs.
My mission:
Make people’s lives easier and more enjoyable by creating functional and convenient interfaces that are pleasant to use.
My story:
I transitioned to the field of UX from teaching and curriculum design.
This unconventional background gifted me with some useful skills for my brand new career, such as empathy, strategic thinking, and strong communication.
I think, my intention to always think about users and their success is also rooted in my teaching background.
As a self-taught UX researcher, I know for sure how important it is to always be curious and get better in your field. I like taking online courses, reading articles, and participating in workshops to always learn something new and apply new skills to my work. Currently, I’m enrolled in Data Analysis for UX Research course at oomka.io - an AI based learning platform, and enjoy every minute spent learning there.
Nothing is as exciting for me as trying something that I’ve never done before. It motivates, encourages me and makes me more rounded as a person. The last crazy thing I did was trying myself as a Product Manager with no relevant education or experience. This endeavor opened new horizons for me and really tested my ability to learn and make decisions fast. But the challenge itself gives me the motivation to continue and to bring the product we work on to success!
I love planning trips and traveling. New places and new people are my major energy and inspiration sources. Change of scenery helps me to stay focused and be in the moment. It’s also pretty curious for me to look at this world from as many perspectives as possible. Meeting locals while exploring new corners of this planet helps me perceive the world in all its diversity and beauty.
Sharing my experience with others brings me lots of joy. No matter how I do it: through the travel vlog on my youtube channel or through organizing an ESL speaking club with my former colleagues where everyone can practice useful speaking skills, it fulfills me and brings meaning to my life. I hope at some point I will be able to mentor and empower junior UX researchers by sharing my UX journey with them.
I think being physically active is crucial for overall wellness and mental health, but I hate routine and monotone, so I try to find some activities that are fun and enjoyable. Right now I’m into climbing and running. I'm preparing to run my first 10k in July. In summer, I also like longboarding, swimming and hiking. All these keep my body fit and my mind sharp.
Check out one of my first climbing routs (I must say, now I'm much better =))
